Walking the Spiritual Path

Journey through the Omer

a 4-session course with Rabbi Jill Zimmerman

Online or In-Person

Join us for this unique series in which we explore the stages of the personal spiritual journey. There is no time more powerful to do this spiritual work than the seven weeks between Passover and Shavuot, during which time we collectively journey from Egypt to Sinai. The metaphors of this larger story serve as guides to our individual adventures and unfoldings.

Some journeys we choose. Other journeys have chosen us. Every time we make a transition from the known into the unknown, the possibility of transformation is available. This is especially true when we journey with consciousness and have a map of the territory.path with heart

In our 4 sessions, we will explore the following themes:

  • choosing to leave what is known
  • wandering into the unknown, whether we have chosen it or not
  • confronting fear, doubt, and uncertainty
  • finding joy in oases of peace

Poetry, music, text and mindfulness practices will help to steer our way. EVERYONE is welcome.

A treat: Singer/Songwriter Jason Feddy took this class last year, and wrote a song about one aspect of the experience: The Wilderness of I Don’t Know. We talk a bit about this section of the course & you hear his own story. Please watch!

* “Counting the Omer” is the 49-day, 7 week period of time that begins right after Passover, when we wander in the desert, ultimately ending up at the foot of Mt. Sinai, where we experience ultimate Oneness at Shavuot when the Torah is given.
